When I feed my middle child something she liked once, she’ll spit it out, make a face, and gently tell me her tastes have changed. Which is her polite way of saying she’s not going to eat that. But I won’t assume she’ll never eat it again, because things change. Tastes come and go. Certain things you never waver on, and sometimes you do a 180 and never go back.
When I was a kid rollercoasters weren’t for me. First it’s a height restriction and after that it was because I was scared. Then I got a few decades of loving them. Now, as much as I want to ride one, my body says otherwise. So a thing I really enjoyed in life is over for me. Better to have loved and lost, right? For rollercoasters, if I graph a “for me” over time it looks like this:

A lot of these things are out of our control. Sometimes you can’t help what you like. Can I enjoy The Beatles from birth until death?
Here are 20 things in my life that are for me, or not for me, over time. Obviously I have to predict the future, and I’m not planning to live until I’m 100, but you never know.

What am I sitting at zero on because I haven’t tried it in ten years? Or ever?
That’s the fun question. The other one is what’s at 100 right now that won’t be for much longer.
