I packed a microphone for my annual trip to Maine. You can see it in the photo above, very small, in almost the exact center of the frame. Aside from it’s relatively tiny size, it looks fragile and dark, almost imperceptible among the rocks and nearby water. This location is about halfway between Thunder Hole and Otter Cliffs in Acadia National Park. It also happens to be just below where my family enjoyed a picnic on this particular day. I wedged the mic in a rock crack and walked away, taking pictures and exploring the coast for 20 minutes while it recorded. Below is 5 unedited minutes that I’m happy to share.
